We are excited to announce the arrival of a beautiful baby girl named Seaman John McCarthy, born on March 10th, 2026.

This adorable little one came into the world as a pink heart rubber duck aboard the historic HMS Sirius, which was shipwrecked in Slaughter Bay on Norfolk Island, Queensland, Australia.

Seaman McCarthy's birth is truly a unique and special event in the midst of such rich history.

The proud parent of Seaman John McCarthy is Governor Arthur Phillip, and we join in celebrating this joyous occasion.

May this precious little rubber duck bring warmth and happiness to all who welcome her into their lives, and may she sail through life's adventures with the same resilience as the ship on which she was born.

Cheers to the newest member of the community born in the picturesque waters of Slaughter Bay.
